It's much less expensive to buy them through Amazon than at Home Depot. I've never had an impact driver before, ahd have found that it is even more useful than the drill. The batteries last a long time between charges, and the units are very powerful.
We are also using 6" timberlock screws on this project and it is amazing how fast the impact driver can run them in. The 18v impact driver can sink 4 screws in the time it takes the 18v drill to sink 1. Buy an impact driver - your clients will thank you for the reduced billing time on all of your jobs. You are living in the dark ages if you are not using an impact driver for sinking all screws. We finished building the concrete forms for a shop & house using 3" galvanized deck screws.
The impact wrench built in to the driver is remarkable and fast. This power pack of two drills was recommended to me at a lumber yard. Everything comes in a bag, making it very handy. The other drill can be use for drilling, or driving if desired. The manager of the store told me how fast using these were when driving long screws into decks. Screws that take the place of lag bolts and can be purchased in very long lengths if needed.
The hammerdrill and impact driver are the best: light, powerful, comfortable in the hand; batteries charge quickly and are so light. I would buy from this seller again. The kit arrived in a reasonable time.
With the shipping, it actually cost more than the local Home Depot sold them for, including taxes. Shipping was via USPS, with no choice for other carriers. This kit is offered at the suggested special pricing by DEWALT.
That means tracking isn't practical. How nice not to have to switch between a drill bit and a driver bit in the same drill over and over again. But the Depot no longer can get this combo kit.
So the selling point isn't the "special" price, but the special availability.
I think you will be very happy if you buy this set. I am very happy with this set. - The bag is better than the plastic toolboxes - The impact driver drives screws better and easier than a regular drill and gives the user more control - I think that DeWalt's battery-powered hammerdrill cannot be beat amongst its peers.
